Maburahois a romantic comedy of magical proportions, about a high school magician who suddenly becomes the target of three beautiful girls.

The main character is a somewhat depressed seventeen-year-old high school student, Kazuki Shikimori. He attends, rather reluctantly, the elite Aoi Academy, a school for training people in the intricacies of powerful magic.

In this world, where the ability to use magic is paramount, each magician is limited in the number of times he or she can use magic spells, and performing more spells than the limit allows will cause the user to die and turn into dust. In this regard, unlike the average enrolled magician whose limit is typically in the thousands, Kazuki is considered an underachiever, since he can only wield magic a mere eight times during his entire life.

Then one day, all of a sudden, a girl named Yuuna Miyama shows up in front of him and says "From now on, we're husband and wife!" While he is still shocked, Kuriko Kazetsubaki and Rin Kamishiro appear before him as well. It turns out that all three pretty girls from different fledgling clans have started pursuing him for his genes. Kazuki's family tree includes a lineage of the most skilled magicians known to history, making him the heir to an unmatched pedigree of latent genetic material for magical greatness.

They need his genes to produce a child with the strongest magic in the world, to bring greatness back to their family names. After this news spreads around the school, he goes from the guy no girl would even look at for romantic interest, to now being chased by the three most beautiful girls in school, as well as a few others that wouldn't mind having his genes either. It turns out that this pedigree was the main reason for him being accepted into an elite magic school instead of shunned for his weak ability with magic. This makes him even more depressed.

The three girls' appearances may well also spell doom for Kazuki, as he soon realizes that his magic count is decreasing ever steadily due to the fact that he can't resist using magic to help them. However, it also gives hints that his magic is stronger than expected, for he is able to perform spells most would not be able to accomplish.

Yuna becomes Kazuki's primary love interest, just because of how much she seems to actually care for him. In addition to this, the two made a promise early in their childhood. Kuriko, the blonde, is a year older and she can be considered the most aggressive of the three girls. The third and most reluctant of the girls is Rin, a member of a samurai clan that only wants Kazuki's genes to restore its lost honor. Initially, she simply wants to kill him, so this adds an interesting dramatic twist to the show.
