Who Is He?

InuYasha is a hanyou (half-demon, half-human) that was pinned to a tree by an enchanted arrow by the priestess, Kikyo. He remained under the spell for 50 years until Kagome arrived and pulled the arrow out, freeing him from his curse. At first, his intentions were bent on killing Kagome in order to obtain the Shikon no Tama (Jewel of Four Souls), which got him into trouble 50 years before with Kikyo. Now, he and Kagome work together to find the shards of the jewel.

Appearance:

InuYasha is a very attractive hanyou. The creator, Rumiko Takahashi, has described him as being in his late teens (16-19?) Although this may be true, he surely doesn't act his age. Since his father was a dog demon, he has acquired similar doggy features. He has sharp claws on his fingers (and sometimes his toes will appear to have them also), long silver hair, ears perched atop his head, fangs, and golden eyes. He also acts like a dog sometimes. InuYasha scratches behind his ear with his foot, sniffs the ground on all fours, and growls when agitated or annoyed. His mother was a human princess, whose name was Izayoi. He wears a red suit made of fur from the fire rat, a rosary conjured by the priestess Kaede (which he cannot remove), and his sword, the Tetsusaiga, which is strapped to his waist.

Personality:

Simply put, InuYasha is a total softie at heart. Don’t let that gruff exterior deceive you! He’s very defensive, protective, smart-alecky, chauvinistic, determined, and powerful. Every once in a while, he’ll reveal his more genteel traits, but they come out only when Kagome is around (sometimes rare even at that). Still, you can’t help but love the heck outta that guy!

Weapons:

He has his sword, the Tetsusaiga, which can perform the Wind Scar and the Backlash Wave. He can also destroy barriers with it. With his claws, he enables Iron Reaver Soul Stealer and Blades of Blood. He has yet to pounce on anyone and gnaw a leg or arm off with his fangs.

WARNING!

Whenever the Tetsusaiga is separated from him, his demon blood takes over and he takes on a whole new look. His eyes glow red, purple lines etch both sides of his face, and his voice grows deep. Every time his demonic side takes control, he loses a piece of his soul, hence his growing tendency to attack any one of his allies, even Kagome. He relishes in killing and the sight and smell of blood. Only Kagome’s sit command can knock him out of his crazed stupor.

Also, on the night of the New Moon, InuYasha becomes totally mortal. His hair turns black, he loses his claws and fangs, and his eyes become charcoal colored. The Tetsusaiga will not transform for him at this time and he tends to let his human emotions get the better of him when he’s with Kagome. Woo hoo!!!

Inuyasha

Age:  unknown; older than 70 for sure

Race:  half human, half dog demon

Family:  half-brother, Sesshoumaru

Love:  Kikyou, Kagome

Weakness:  his human form, Kikyou, Kagome

Weapon:  Tetsusaiga

Looks:  as demon has white hair, dog ears, yellow eyes, fangs, and claws.  As human has black hair, dark eyes

Abilities:  pretty fast, jump high, good sense of smell, hearing, and sight

Fact:  change into human on every moonless night

Personality:  Inuyasha is a foul mouth, rude, insecure, insensitive, and very immature half demon.  Even with all those wonderful characteristics, he is still very loyal to his friends and willing to risk his life to save them.

Goals:  find Naraku, collect the jewel to become a full demon, attack Naraku, figure things out between Kikyou and Kagome, kill Naraku to avenge Kikyou

Inuyasha was sealed up to a tree for 50 years by Kikyou.  He was later free by Kagome, Kikyou's reincarnation.  He and Kagome then teamed up to find all the Shikon Jewel fragments.  At first, he didn't like Kagome and was very rude to her because she resembles Kikyou.  Later, he starts to develop feeling for her and is very protective of her.  He gets very jealous when Kouga is around Kagome.  After Kikyou was brought back to life, he has mix feeling for them and couldn't decide between Kikyou and Kagome.  Besides his love life problem, he also has problem with his older brother, Sesshoumaru, who's goal was to take the Tetsusaiga away from Inuyasha.  Saying that these two don't get along would be an understatement.  Sesshoumaru wouldn't hesitate to kill Inuyasha and is totally offended by Inuyasha's existent.  And of course, there is Naraku.   If there is one person Inuyasha wouldn't hesitate to kill, it would be Naraku.  He turned Kikyou and Inuyasha against each other, and tried to kill Inuyasha numerous of times.  Inuyasha also hated the fact that Naraku is in love with Kikyou.  It makes him angry just to think about it.
